Phytosanitary Treatment
Quarantine phytosanitary treatment is a phytosanitary measure determined by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – MAPA and carried out only by accredited companies (search the list of companies below), with the aim of ensuring that vegetables, parts of vegetables and their products, as well as packaging and wooden supports, in export and import operations, are free from pests.
To this end, MAPA accredits companies that can carry out phytosanitary treatments for authorized quarantine purposes and issue the respective Treatment Certificates or apply the IPPC mark, as provided for in the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 – NIMF 15.
